This Privacy Policy explains how SellwiseHub (“SellwiseHub”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our website, dashboard, tools, and services.

1) Who we are

SellwiseHub is a platform that helps users research product opportunities and marketplace availability, and allows users to create and view listings in features such as Supplier Hub and Launch Exchange. We also support inquiries between buyers and listers.

2) What information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

A) Information you provide

  • Account details: email address, name/display name, password (handled by our authentication provider), and basic profile info.
  • Verification information (if you choose to verify): information and documents you submit, and the outcome of the review (approved/rejected), reviewer notes, and timestamps.
  • Listings: content you create (titles, descriptions, category, pricing ranges, images, location/province, MOQ and related listing fields).
  • Inquiries/messages: name, email address, message content, and listing references when you contact a supplier or seller.
  • Support/contact: any details you include when contacting us.

B) Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: log data, IP address, device/browser type, pages visited, timestamps, and basic diagnostic information.
  • Cookies/local storage: used for login sessions, security, and improving user experience.

C) Payment and token information

  • If you purchase tokens or subscriptions, we record transaction metadata (e.g., package purchased, timestamps, amounts, internal reference IDs).
  • We do not store full card details. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers (e.g., WooCommerce/Yoco or other processors you configure).

3) How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account and authentication
  • Provide access to the SellwiseHub dashboard and tools
  • Run tool requests and show results (e.g., sell-checker / gap scans where applicable)
  • Allow you to create, manage, and display listings
  • Deliver inquiry notifications (emails) between buyers and listers
  • Manage tokens, billing, and fraud prevention
  • Enforce our Terms of Use and Verification Policy
  • Improve platform performance and reliability (debugging, monitoring, security)

4) Inquiries and email conversations

When you send an inquiry through SellwiseHub:

  • We may email the listing owner (supplier/seller) an inquiry notification.
  • If you reply by email, the conversation may continue directly between email addresses.
  • Paper trail: SellwiseHub may store the initial inquiry record (metadata and message) in our database for operational and security reasons. We do not guarantee that we store every reply in your email inbox conversation unless a dedicated in-app messaging feature is launched.

5) Legal basis and compliance (South Africa + global)

We aim to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where applicable, global privacy principles (e.g., GDPR-style transparency and access rights). Your use of SellwiseHub implies consent to this Privacy Policy where required, and processing may also be necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the service).

6) How we share information

We share personal information only when necessary:

  • Service providers: hosting, databases, authentication, storage, email delivery, logging/monitoring (e.g., Google Cloud / Firebase and email infrastructure).
  • Payment processors: to process purchases (we receive confirmation/metadata, not full payment credentials).
  • Legal and safety: if required by law, to protect rights, prevent fraud, or respond to lawful requests.
  • With other users (public content):
    • Listings you publish may be visible to other users (and in some cases publicly, depending on your listing status/approval rules).
    • Your inquiry details (name/email/message) are shared with the listing owner so they can respond.

7) Data storage and security

We use reasonable security practices (access controls, authentication, and secure infrastructure). However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

8) Data retention

We keep information only as long as needed for:

  • providing the service,
  • legal/accounting obligations,
  • enforcing our policies,
  • preventing fraud/abuse.

We may retain limited audit trails and logs for a reasonable period for security and operational integrity.

9) Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • request access to your personal information,
  • correct inaccurate information,
  • request deletion (subject to legal/security requirements),
  • object to certain processing,
  • withdraw consent where applicable.
